Taste and See that the Lord is Good

In the northern hemisphere, winter is just around the corner; and so is Christmas! The season of love and giving is coming. Jesus came that all may have life and have it more abundantly. The resurrection power of Jesus redeemed mankind from the curse of Adam’s fall. For those parents with small kids, teach them in the way they should go (The Biblical way) so that when they are old, they will not depart from it. When the hurricanes and winds blow (like problems and illnesses), they will stand firm on solid ground and not be blown away like a house of straws!

Now Faith is the confidence in what we hope for

My favorite verse as a student is this: Philippians 4:13 – I can do All things through Christ who strengthens me..

Encourage your children to explore the New Testament which is after the birth of Jesus Christ as compared to the Old Testament which is of Moses Law, The 10 Commandments, etc. But it is good to know some history before we can appreciate the New Testament of unmerited favor, love and divine help, especially in times of need.

Gone Back to Writing

I have gone back to writing articles for students doing their assignments and also for a travel website. This is done on a part-time basis. By the way, my cute Pomeranian puppy can chase after baby cockroaches and use her nose to squash the roaches to death. She had seen me killing roaches running around using my bare hands. I have tried using tissue papers before but it just does not work. They will manage to escape and scurry away. I just slap them on the wall or floor with my palm for a higher chance of hitting the target, and then wash my hands with anti-bacterial liquid soap.

My favourite laptop is now under repair as the hard disk almost crash with daily error messages and bad sectors when booting up. So I conveniently sent it to the technician downstairs to change to a new 1 Terabyte hard disk for $220 with backup another $80. He happens to own a computer peripherals factory in Butterworth. There are many businesses downstairs with several restaurants of various styles of food from hawker food to fusion, western, nonya and Chinese. A new Mamak cafe will open soon as well.

Gig on Fiverr

Do check out Write Blog Posts on This Blog, which I have created a gig on Fiverr. The above image was done by me and edited in Photoshop. By chance, I woke up at 4:30 am at the crack of dawn and decided to check emails for anything important. Also checked for blogging micro jobs to complete and found one. This blog will not be to where it is today without your support and constant patronage.

I love writing and I guess this is the thing that I do best; instead of cracking my brains over long codes to debug. But I do have an admiration for those hard-core programmers who toil day and night to solve our problems. Well, I guess each to his or her own success and don’t compare. Everyone has their own skill sets and it is up to us to take massive action. Don’t envy others who are more successful or earn more than you. There are others who could barely put bread and butter on the table and there are those who live in the streets with no roofs over their heads.

Just be contented of your abilities and be thankful for God’s grace and unmerited favour to bless us tremendously each day. Whatever skills you are lacking, there are always solutions to it and money can buy talent. Just like employing people smarter than you to work in your organisation, instead of feeling threatened. That’s my food for thought.

Got a $50 Fay Khoo Award Voucher

Got a $50 Fay Khoo Award Voucher

I just came back from KL, stopped for a rest in Tapah and returned home to open the letter box. Inside were 2 envelopes. One of them was a bill and the other was the above: a $50 voucher from my writing submission for the Fay Khoo Award. Even though I did not win, I am glad to receive the $50 voucher for Ben’s food, valid till September 2018 for being one of the first 25 submissions.

You can read the 3 winners’ entries here >> The Fay Khoo Award Winners with Renie Leng being the overall winner, flanked by 2 others.

You can even chat with her for some tips on writing and the samples uploaded give me some ideas of how to write and the style of writing. They are all closely related with very good vocabulary and able to string words into pearls of diction. The average words written were about 1290 words, just nice and not too wordy for the award.

Thanks to The Fay Khoo Award organisers for presenting me with a $50 voucher for Ben’s restaurant valid till next year.
