It’s not a metaphor, scare tactic, or myth. It’s a place of eternal separation from God, a place of darkness, regret, and unimaginable sorrow. Yet, in this grim reality shines the most beautiful hope: Jesus Christ saves. Many people today treat Hell like a joke, a superstition from a less enlightened time. Some say, “A loving God would never send people to Hell.” But what if we’re missing the point? God doesn’t want anyone to perish. In fact, 2 Peter 3:9 says He is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” Hell exists not because God is cruel, but because He is just—and because He gives us the freedom to choose. Sin separates us from God, and that separation leads to death—not just physical death, but spiritual death. Romans 6:23 puts it bluntly: “For the wages of sin is death.” If we die without receiving God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ, we remain eternally cut off from the only source of light and life.
