11 Best Jobs for Introverts that Actually Pay Well (2019)

Imagine having a high paying job, but feeling stressed and overwhelmed everyday because you had to do things that are outside of your personality traits. Careers like sales, event planner, politics, retail, teacher, customer service, and other careers that require you to be in front of people all day are some of the worst jobs for introverts.

If you’ve been working in one of these fields for awhile and are feeling burned out, then you’re probably ready to find low stress jobs for introverts and start doing something that uses your introverted personality as an advantage.

Working from home is a productive way for introverts to make money.

Some benefits to working from home as an introvert…

Not sure which type of Introvert you are?

Social Introverts tend to stay away from social events. Most commonly people mistake them for being shy…which they aren’t! They just prefer to engage in smaller social situations. Usually social introverts have a small group of close friends, but can handle being in larger groups without anxiety.

Anxious Introvert

The Anxious Introvert is someone who actually has anxiety about being in social situations. They usually appear awkward and uncomfortable when in social situations at work or in their personal life.

Working at home is a very low stress job for introverts with anxiety about social situations. Jobs where you work alone from home can allow anxious introverts the opportunity to spend their time on important tasks rather than the stress of social work situations.

Benefits of Being an Anxious Introvert at Work

  • Detail oriented
  • Develop plans in advance
  • Very focused
  • Prepared

Restrained Introvert

Introverts in the restrained category tend to be laid back and take their time when presented with an opportunity to speak, engage, or take action. Sometimes it takes longer than normal to move forward on decisions, but that additional time is not wasted. Restrained Introverts are known for reflection and observation, which can be very useful in a work from home career.

Benefits of a Restrained Introvert at Work

  • Able to think through the vision or big picture
  • Can be the voice of reason
  • Strong reflection and observation skills

#5 Blogging

As an introvert, I have to say that this is my very favorite way to make money from home. I started my blog in 2016 after working several different online jobs.

Blogging is the most flexible work schedule, because I am the one who sets the schedule. My income continues to grow beyond what I would have ever made working for other online companies.

Bloggers make money by selling their own products, selling other people’s products (affiliate marketing), offering services, and ads placed on the website.

Don’t expect to start making money immediately, it can be a very slow process especially if you are learning as you go!

There are bloggers like me who are making $2000 per month and there are bloggers who are making $100,000 or more per month

Pay for this work at home job is unlimited!

#7 Merch by Amazon

This is similar to graphic design, but it is design specific for clothing that can be sold on Amazon through the Merch by Amazon program.

Originally the Merch by Amazon program was designed to give app and video game creators an easy way to sell their merchandise. But entrepreneurs found out about the platform and started creating shirts that people love, and it’s turned into an actual job that you can do working from home!

Basically you research a design for a specific niche. An example could be “introverts.” You would research something that stands out for introverts and create the design. Upload it to the Merch by Amazon platform and then it goes on sale on Amazon.

When people purchase your shirt, you earn a commission for that sale! It’s kind of like earning passive income once you do all the hard work up front.

The amount of money you can make from selling t-shirts on Amazon is unlimited right now. However, it can take awhile to start earning, especially if you have to learn the skills to research, create, and sell on Amazon.

Pay for this job (potentially) full time income.

Freelance writing is one of the best jobs for introverts without a degree.

Anyone can become a writer. You don’t have to be a professional or even have a degree in English to start making money as a writer!

There are content sites that will pay you to write for them as long as you have knowledge about what you are writing about.

So many businesses today need to have content on their websites, social media, and newsletters. Content is what makes businesses stay relevant and helps them be found on search engines (think Google!).

You can make between $50 – $1000+ writing as a freelance writer.  Just so we are clear…you’re not going to start out making $1000 as a newbie freelance writer, but over time as you develop your writing skills there is great potential to grow your income.

#13 Photographer

I think becoming a photographer would be kind of stressful for an introvert especially if you are taking pictures of special events or large groups of people (family photos).

There are other fields that you can go into that have a growing demand for quality images.

Stock Photos

As a blogger I purchase stock photos for $1 to $0.50 per image with a license to reuse and resize. Some businesses pay $5 – $25 per image on sites like Shutter Stock. You could sell your images to bigger platforms or you could start your own business selling stock photos to online business entrepreneurs.

Images that are in demand are food images, seasonal images, office layouts (desk, computer, planners), and landscapes. Hint: none of them involve people 😉

Senior Portraits

I remember getting my senior portraits done in about 30 minutes. I wore the traditional black drape and then had another outfit that I changed into…and that’s it! Today senior portraits are an experience. It’s all about working one on one with a senior to let their personality shine through the pictures. These photo sessions range from $500 to $1500 depending on the experience of the photographer.

Pay for this job approximately $500 per month or more.

You know how people are so busy that they don’t have time to plan out healthy meals for their families? Those people need an at home chef.

Who wouldn’t love to order a healthy home cooked meal that’s sent to their door?

If you love to cook and prepare meals, then maybe you should consider starting a chef side business. This would be a great job for introverts because you would be left alone to do all the work on your own in the kitchen.

Pay for this job ranges from $18,000 – $60,000 per year.

#15 IT Specialist

If you are into computer sciences, then an IT (information technology) specialist position could be a work from home job that you do as freelance. You could work remotely if you are familiar with software programs and can help people walk through popular computer programs.

Technical difficulties drive everyone crazy, especially when you don’t know anything tech-y. People are using computers every day and getting stuck. You can provide the support needed to solve their problem!

Most jobs in the computer world pay well and this is no exception.

Pay for this job ranges from $50,000 to $80,000.

Still, not sure where to start?

Looking for a work from home job can feel overwhelming.

You don’t want to be scammed, you don’t want to feel dumb for thinking that there really could be a different way to make money…

I totally get that!

3 years ago, I was standing in your shoes wondering if all this work from home stuff was for real. And I honestly was stuck, because I didn’t know where to start.

After a failed attempt at running an Etsy shop, I decided that I would start small…

I started taking surveys online. (My favorite that I still use every month is Survey Junkie.)

Then I decided to give search engine evaluation a try.

I actually started making money…more than I was making at my part time job as a preschool teacher.

That’s when I knew that this whole work at home thing could be real with the right set of skills and a lot of hard work!

I figured out a way to make money at home that works for me and my family. Now I’m helping people like you avoid the mistakes I made and find real ways to work from home.

You’re only one job away from…
