Booked Mercure Dolphine Southampton Hotel July 21, 2015 bizadmin Yesterday, I booked 4-star Mercure Dolphine Southampton Hotel in UK for 7 nights and 2 rooms for 4 adults – my parents, myself and youngest sister. The total cost without breakfast with VAT or GST here comes to around Great Britain pounds of 973 or almost 70 per night per room. My second sister is getting married there and her friend will cook for us. Plus the fact that there are several restaurants nearby including Chinese and Western food. I booked through booking.com and will only pay upon checking out on the last day. It will be sometime in October, during autumn. I shall miss my spouse and he will be all alone here.
Car Broke Down July 15, 2015 bizadmin Just the other day at Gurney Plaza car park, our old Mercedes broke down after we reached the 5th floor parking bay and pushed the car to an area where there is no obstruction to the traffic. My spouse called his brother and his own mechanic but to no avail, because it was way past working hours at night and no one picks up the call. In the end, I called dad and he wanted to come over to fetch me and told me to call up AAM, a 24-hour service for car breakdowns. We paid $130 on the spot with a receipt for 2 cars when the AAM people reached Gurney Plaza. They drove up to the car park on the 5th floor and amazingly, our car could start on its own after that. Hence, they accompanied our car our trailing behind just in case it stops midway again and it was smooth going back to the condo after that.
Celebrated my Birthday Yesterday July 11, 2015 bizadmin Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday that was brought forward to the 10th July as I was in KL on the actual birthday date. Went to Chinese Recreation Club at Victoria Green, Penang and pre-ordered 6 dishes of faux sharks’ fin soup with lots of crab meat, half roasted chicken with prawn crackers, fishball soup with Japanese seaweed, lettuce wrapped egg omelette with crab meat, and ee-fu noodles with crab meat. We had pu-er tea with ice and my spouse bought each of us a lottery ticket for $3 each. Hopefully, we can win something on this auspicious day. We also tar-pau back some of the noodles as we could not finish them in one go.
Back on Tuesday July 5, 2015 bizadmin I am now in KL since Thursday night and stay over the weekend in my apartment before meeting a client on Tuesday and then depart back to Penang. On Wednesday, will go for a cruise to the high seas for 1 night 2 days on SuperStar Libra for $447 per couple. There will be buffet dinner on board and entertainment show as well. On Friday, will celebrate my birthday with family members at a Chinese restaurant with 6 dishes comprising of fake sharks’ fin soup with crab meat, half roasted chicken with prawn crackers, green vegetable in soup, crab and scallops omelette wrapped in lettuce, ‘ee-fu’ noodles with crab meat, and seaweed with fish ball soup – all for $240 excluding peanuts, drinks, GST and service charge.
Phuket, Krabi Cruise Shelved July 2, 2015 bizadmin The Penang, Phuket and Krabi cruise for 4 days 3 nights scheduled for August, my mother’s birthday month, has been shelved. I was prepared to pay for 3 persons with both my parents tagging along, but since mum does not want dad to follow and it is no fun for 2 persons, then I have decided to go with my partner for 2 days 1 night cruise to the high seas departing next week. The tickets are confirmed and room already checked in online for easier passage, instead of filling up long forms at the counter. It is also my birthday month and the cruise would be suitable for me. I am sure I will enjoy this cruise more than going with a parent where you don’t have the freedom to do the things you love.
Planning to go to Penang, Phuket, Krabi Cruise June 26, 2015 bizadmin I am currently planning to go to Penang, Phuket, Krabi Cruise for 4 days 3 nights via Libya Star Cruises by Genting. For 3 persons in July, the cost will be $4,016 including port taxes and GST. But my dad may not go this time leaving just me and mum. We may go later, but for the moment, the date of departure is not ready yet in the system for online booking. There will be cabaret show on the cruise and a small circular swimming pool. I have never taken Star Cruises and this will be the first time for this experience. With my partner, I have taken a simple cruise to nowhere for 1 night stay only plus gambling on board the ship. We were woken up at midnight to gamble and I won $5 on my first try before retiring to bed as it was the policy to gamble the whole night through for this particular cruise to nowhere.
Minions 2015 Official Trailer June 20, 2015 bizadmin Minions are small, yellow creatures who have existed since the beginning of time, evolving from single-celled organisms into beings who have only one purpose: to serve history’s most despicable masters. After accidentally destroying all their masters, including a T. Rex, a primitive, Genghis Khan, Napoleon and Dracula, they decide to isolate themselves from the world and start a new life in Antarctica. By 1968, the lack of a master drives them into depression, so Kevin comes up with a plan to find a new one. A rebellious teenage Minion named Stuart volunteers to join Kevin by accident, while a kid named Bob joins by begging Kevin, who thought he was too young. The Minions arrive at New York, where they learn that Villain-Con, a villain convention where supervillains from around the world gather to search for henchmen, was to be held in Orlando, Florida. They manage to hitch a ride to Orlando. Coincidentally, the family who drove them there were criminals heading to Villain-Con as well. The Minions were impressed by some of the villains, including a sumo wrestler and an aquatic supervillian called Frankie Fish Lips. In the end, they attempted to become the henchmen for Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first female supervillain. Hundreds of audience members rushed on stage to participate in Scarlet’s challenge, but they were eliminated easily by the supervillain. Amidst the confusion, Bob wins the challenge by swapping Scarlet’s ruby with his teddy bear, Tim. Scarlet declares the Minions her new henchmen. Scarlet takes the Minions to her residence in London, where she instructs the Minions to steal St Edward’s Crown for her. Through a bedtime story, Scarlet threatens to kill them if they fail in their mission. With the help of Scarlet’s husband Herb Overkill’s weapons, the Minions break into the Tower of London successfully, but the crown was already delivered to Queen Elizabeth II. The Minions steal the crown from the Queen’s carriage and are pursued by police. Bob crash lands on the mythical Sword in the Stone, where he pulls Excalibur out easily to defend himself. Elizabeth is removed from the throne, and Bob is crowned King of the United Kingdom. Scarlet confronts the Minions, calling them traitors. King Bob eventually abdicates in Scarlet’s favor. However, Scarlet betrays the Minions as well, locking them in the palace dungeon where they are to be tortured by Herb. The medieval torture devices fail to work on the Minions because of their unusual shape and abilities. When Herb goes to attend his wife’s coronation, the Minions escape the dungeon through a sewer. Along the way, they steal a funeral wreath and write an apology note for Scarlet on it. At Westminster Abbey, the Minions accidentally interrupt Scarlet’s coronation by breaking a chandelier, which falls and crushes Scarlet before she could be crowned. Scarlet orders the attendees of the coronation, some of which are supervillains, to kill the Minions. Stuart and Bob are captured while Kevin hides in a bar, where he finds Elizabeth working there. After learning that Scarlet is going to execute Stuart and Bob, Kevin breaks into Herb’s laboratory, where he triggers a machine which turns him giant, destroying the Overkill residence. Simultaneously, the rest of the Minions in Antarctica encounter a few yetis. The minions began to work for the leader of the yetis, but once again kill him by accident. The remaining yetis pursue the Minions in anger. The Minions escape the continent and, after much trouble, get on a plane to Britain. Kevin rescues his companions from execution. Scarlet attacks Kevin with missiles but misses every shot. The army of Minions arrive in London and gathers on the street to see Kevin. Scarlet is distracted by the minions and Kevin knocks Scarlet away. The supervillain escapes with Herb using her dress rocket, but Kevin holds onto the rocket, causing it to explode. Kevin is shrunk back to his original size and lands safely using his still gigantic overalls. Elizabeth is once again crowned Queen of the United Kingdom and, in front of a crowd, presents Kevin, Stuart and Bob with their rewards. Bob is given a tiny crown for Tim, Stuart is given an electric guitar (but receives a snowglobe instead when he breaks the guitar on stage) and Kevin is knighted by the Queen. Scarlet is suddenly revealed to be alive and snatches the Queen’s crown with Herb, but she is stopped by a young Felonious Gru, who freezes the Overkills and takes the crown. He then leaves with it. The Minions see Gru as their new potential leader and chase after him, setting up the plot for Despicable Me.
Sold 3 Books and Stamps June 17, 2015 bizadmin Just the other day, I sold 3 books and over 500 stamps via the internet on a popular website. For the first 2 books, I sent them by Skynet courier and for the third book, met up with my customer at McDonald’s near my place for the sale transaction. It was also the same for the stamps – conducted near my place and sold to an automation engineer working in Butterworth. He revealed that he has 8,000 stamps so far and still collecting. I am happy to get rid of those stamps even though some are repeat designs and he does not seem to mind; plus the fact that they are still stuck to the envelopes.
