Colleen Paige initially carried attention to a general level with National Dog Day in 2004, which was subsequently taken on by the New York State Legislature in 2013. This day is commended on August 26 and is the day Colleen took on her first canine, “Sheltie,” when she was ten years of age. Colleen has motivated millions with her sympathy and has gotten overall regard for canines’ needs from that point forward. She has focused a light on dogs risking their lives consistently for individual assurance, for regulation implementation, for the incapacitated, for our opportunity, and our security.

Public Puppy Day and National Dog Day are currently extraordinary chances to take on a canine since covers ordinarily have the most elevated admission of pups around late spring. With 30 to 40 creatures entering the asylum daily, we want public help to assist with saving lives. These public occasions do precisely that by consistently empowering and reminding individuals to take on, give, and love their creatures.

The above picture was taken from my Instagram account of little Leia, a female Pomeranian, born on April 20, 2018. She was two months old only when we bought her for a cool $3,000, including a cage, pet water bottle, vitamins, feeding bowl, and more. She had been vaccinated three times already, and we plan to vaccinate her yearly as recommended by our vet.

Leia, the golden-brown Pomeranian, takes a bath in the above video. Check it out.

Little Leia the Pomeranian does tricks for her tasty “bak kwa” treat. Bak Kwa, is a delicious dried sweetmeat that traditionally takes the form of thin square slices and is usually made from pork. In Hokkien and Mandarin, Bak Kwa, meaning “dried meat,” refers to barbecued pork.

You will fall in love with my little Leia, how adorable she is and so obedient when it comes to feeding time. She will do tricks to earn her food at the beginning when we bought her from a pet shop.

For all canine and dog lovers out there, do pamper your pooch, for they give us undivided love and unconditional loyalty. That’s what pet dogs are good at, and they are indeed a man’s best friend.

Listen to my cute Pomeranian puppy whining sounds

My Pomeranian puppy cannot wait for her outdoor walk. She is consoled by a nearby Mynah bird cooing and perched outside on the balcony. It’s obvious who the actual owner is on this video – Yes, my partner – for he brings her for walks, cleans up her pee and poo, feeds and bathes her every few months, as recommended by Astro tv on caring for Poms.

In a nutshell, The Pomeranian (often known as a Pom) is a breed of dog of the Spitz type named for the Pomerania region in north-west Poland and north-east Germany in Central Europe. Classed as a toy dog breed because of its small size, the Pomeranian is descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, specifically the German Spitz.

Pomeranians are small dogs weighing 1.36–3.17 kilograms (3.0–7.0 lb) and standing 8–14 inches (20–36 cm) high at the withers. They are compact but sturdy dogs with an abundant textured coat with a highly plumed tail set high and flat. The topcoat forms a ruff of fur on the neck, which Poms are well known for, and they also have a fringe of feathery hair on the hindquarters.

The earliest examples of the breed were white or occasionally brown or black. Queen Victoria adopted a small red Pomeranian in 1888, which caused that color to become fashionable by the end of the 19th century. In modern times, the Pomeranian comes in the widest variety of shades of any dog breed, including white, black, brown, red, orange, cream, blue, sable, black and tan, brown and tan, spotted, brindle, plus combinations of those colors. The most common colors are orange, black, or cream/white.

Pomeranians have a thick double coat. While grooming is not tricky, breeders recommend that it be done daily to maintain the quality of the coat and because of its thickness and the constant shedding, with trimming every 1–2 months. The outer coat is long, straight, and harsh texture, while the undercoat is soft, thick, and short. The coat knots and tangles easily, mainly when the undercoat is shed, which happens twice a year.

Above is another picture of Leia, slightly grown up in all her furry glory. Oh, by the way, my job is to pick up balls of fur almost daily at the beginning when she sheds her fur. But now, having moved to another place, she is happier and no longer shed so many furballs for yours truly to pick up. As today is a Sunday, stay happy and stay safe. Enjoy your weekend, people.

6 Ways Pets Help Us Maintain Our Mental Health

Mental health and pets

Mental health is one of the significant issues of our time, and we are finally starting to treat it properly. Different people will struggle to maintain mental health differently, but it all begins with awareness.

One of the best ways to maintain good mental health is adopting a furry companion. The physical and psychological health benefits that can accompany the pleasure of a furry friend are tremendous.

With COVID-19 forcing many of us to be isolated at home with limited contact, even now, having a pet around could be a literal lifesaver, providing us with companionship and stability.

How Can Pets Help Maintain Good Mental Health?

Pets Can Reduce Stress and Manage Anxiety

It’s proven that pets can help reduce stress levels simply by being around. Studies have shown that pet owners are less likely to suffer from depression. Playing with a pet can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine, which are vital to helping us calm down and relax. Animals live in the moment, so they don’t worry about yesterday or tomorrow. This can help you overcome anxiety and stress by reminding you to be mindful of the present. All of this can help maintain mental health.

Pet Owners are at a Lower Risk of Heart Attacks

Pets help lower blood pressure, and some studies have even shown that people with borderline hypertension can see positive results in their blood pressure in under six months. Owning a pet also has a positive impact on cholesterol, showing that pet owners have lower cholesterol levels than those without pets. The companionship that pets offer provides stress relief; reducing stress is an excellent way to improve health for someone with a heart condition.

Pets Help Children Grow into Confident and Secure Adults

Caring for an animal is one of the most rewarding experiences a child can have. It teaches them to be responsible for another life and helps them learn things like empathy and social skills. Pets can help children with their learning. Educators have long used animals (mainly dogs) as a form of therapy in schools to help developmentally challenged kids learn.

Pets Combat Loneliness by Providing Companionship

Loneliness is one of the critical triggers for depression and stress. Having a pet can help you overcome that, not only by providing companionship themselves but also by increasing opportunities to meet new people at pet shops, vets, or in the park.

Owning a Pet increases your Physical Activity.

Physical health has a direct impact on your mental wellbeing. Having a pet means you are more likely to be physically active, especially if you own a dog you need to walk several times a day. Still, even cats and other animals can inspire you to get up off the couch and do something to maintain mental health and your physical wellbeing!

Adding Structure and Routine to Your Day

Having a pet means you are responsible for their wellbeing, which means ensuring they have enough food, freshwater, exercise, and are well taken care of. For many people, this generates a routine—eg. Change water morning, night; clean cat litter, feed, walk.

Having a Pet in your Older Years can Help Maintain Mental Health

Mental health and pets

Sometimes, it becomes harder to find joy as we get older, especially if we’re all alone. Having a pet can alleviate these issues by giving us meaning again, providing us with someone to care for. Moreover, you stay connected with other pet owners by visiting dog parks, pet cafes, etc. that provide great opportunities for the elderly to meet other people with (or without) pets of their own, to form new friendships, or at the very least have good social conversations with other people.

Pets help adults with Alzheimer’s Disease or Dementia

There is some suggestion that animals are better able to communicate and connect with people suffering from life-altering diseases like Alzheimers and dementia. By providing stress relief and support, even non-trained companion animals can be a boon to those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

However, there are some aspects to consider before committing to pet ownership – the person with dementia/Alzheimer’s may not want to interact with a pet, or their care might take up too much of your time, leaving little time left to take care of the pet. In such a case, it’s possible to try visits from regular pets instead of owning them outright.

Food for Thought

Most pet owners are clear about the immediate joys that come with sharing their lives. Many of us remain unaware of the physical and mental health benefits that can also accompany the pleasure of having pets. Most importantly, having a pet is fun. Whether it is a dog, cat, bird, or ferret, owning an animal brings enjoyment to any household.

Owning a pet is a huge responsibility. Make sure to also check in with yourself—physically and mentally. This includes having a lifestyle that could commit to taking care of a pet and being financially responsible for providing them with the best care.

However, suppose you’re worried about the worst scenario, which results in leaving behind family, friends, and your beloved furry companions. In that case, it might put your mind at ease to look into securing health insurance for yourself. Remember, reducing stress is one of the most critical steps to maintaining a healthy, well-balanced life!

Ways to keep your furry friend entertained.

And if you already have a pet. Here are some ways to keep your fur best friend occupied too!

Shit Tzu Maltese

It can be because there are plenty of people residing in apartments nowadays, but cats have finally taken outrageous place as America’s number 1 pet. But there’s also many those who have both cats and dogs. How must dogs and cats really get on? Do dogs really hate cats?

The fact is that dogs and cats can live together amicably, especially if they’re introduced together in a youthful age. Even if they’re introduced together as adults there’s still a strong possibility that your dog as well as your cat will not shred one another should you introduce these to one another carefully. For more information on pekingese dog, visit our website today.

Your very best possibility of getting a cat and dog live together and obtain along well is as simple as getting a kitten or cat first. Cats frequently appear to want this benefit to establish themselves within the home before a dog becomes area of the family. Whether it is because a dog frequently includes a size advantage or perhaps is more boisterous – who are able to say? But cats and dogs will often have an improved chance of just living together on good terms once the kitten or cat is one of the family first.

It’s easiest introducing a puppy or cat-friendly dog to your home should you set up a place where your cat might have some peace and privacy. Baby gates or dog gates are generally a wise decision, a minimum of initially. This allows your cat to possess area of the house to themself without having to be bothered from your dog. Your cat as well as your dog can live underneath the same roof for some time without coming too near to one another – advisable when among the occupants might have sharp claws.

When you’re ready to enable your cat and dog meet in person it’s often smart to make use of a leash along with a pet carrier. Have your dog on the leash and set your cat within the pet carrier. You need to control the problem whenever possible. Make certain that the cat feels safe. Some dogs could be a little too passionate. You are able to let your dog to smell the carrier and appear within the crate. Your cat might not be happy but he should permit the dog to examine the carrier without losing it, particularly if the pair of them will be in exactly the same house for any couple of days.

Keep your baby gates up as lengthy as necessary. In some instances this is usually a while. In some cases your cat may begin sliding out. Some cats are extremely proficient at placing a dog in the place and letting him realize that he can’t push the cat around.

For those who have a kitten you will have to take special safeguards to make certain he is not hurt accidentally. Even though you possess a kitten along with a puppy you ought to be careful the play does not get too rough and nobody is hurt. Do look out for your puppy too. Cat claws can perform serious harm to your puppy’s face. Want to know more about shih tzu maltese? Visit our website for more information.

Dogs don’t really hate cats however, many dogs haven’t been elevated with cats and they do not know how you can treat them. There’s frequently some jealousy playing on sides if you have a cat along with a dog inside your home. When your cat as well as your dog are in place within the home you should not must many issues with them but you will have to observe that they do not tease or taunt one another. Leia the Pomeranian doing Tricks for her “Bak-kwa” Treat

In this 1-minute Instagram video, Leia the golden Pomeranian is doing tricks for her treat. She scuttles round and round in excitement and offers her paws to “shake hands” while begging for food. She is so cute, but my spouse is the real owner as he cleans her poo and pee in her tray box. So hence, she follows him like a faithful loyal friends. Sometimes, she playfully bites my foot too as a puppy. Well, puppies love to bites things that they see and shreds tissue rolls into pieces of paper everywhere.

I used InShot video maker to create this short video adding music and cutting the unwanted clip. It is a paid version and will increase in price after 1 year of usage on my iPhone 10. Leia is so cute and is full splendor of her long fur glory. That’s because, during the MCO, no pet shops were open for grooming to cut her paw nails that are now 1+ cm long and trim her fur.

[abc]

Above is Leia, at 2+ years, and had its menses last week. She was born on 20th April 2018. And today is 23rd May 2020. We might send her for spaying to prevent the mess whenever the menses come.

Below is a rare picture of Leia when she was a puppy with her pink toy. This photo won the first prize in The Star for the Dog Picture Contest which was taken by yours truly and Leia won several food treats, anti-ticks vial, and pet shampoo, amongst others.

So, there you have it. My pet Pomeranian Leia. My second sis gave her the name Leia instead of Princess which I had originally planned to call her. Hence, you can see there is a Star Wars theme to all these monikers.

Leia in all her former glory days

The above pictures and video are taken by me of my pet Pomeranian, Leia, with my spouse as her master now. She’s so cute and in her former glory days of long fur pelt with puppy boots. I feel a little sad now that her long fur was cut short by her ‘master’ since she dropped balls of fur near her playpen and it is a daily task to pick up the balls of fur. But due to certain circumstances, he sent her for a new overhaul in look and she now resembles a mongrel in the streets; except for her long fur on her tail that was not cut! Thank goodness, people still know she’s a Pom!

It is easier to maintain her now, but I still sense that Leia felt something was not usual having her long fur in her glory old days shaved off like a mongrel. Anyway, she will still remain my beloved little Pom! Since my spouse does most of the feeding and cleaning of poo, and fill up her water bottle, hence, he’s the master.

Cute White Pomeranian

Cute white Pomeranian puppy

I find the white Pomeranian above very cute and lively. Don’t you just love Pomeranian pups? They are so adorable, especially with their long fur pelt in all their glory. This breed is smart and very loyal to its master. They will become envious and bark should strangers come near the owner. My little Leia, a brown golden Pomeranian born on 20th April 2017, will bark ferociously if strangers come to the house. Sometimes she barks until she has to drink lots of water! They look like the teddy bear as young puppies. Keeping a pet helps to reduce the stress of life due to the hustle and bustle of working and putting food on the table. Pomeranians have sharp noses like the fox fauna. Except that they are domesticated and can be trained to roll over, ‘shake hands’, sit, go into the cage, come out, etc.
