However, amidst the flurry of holiday preparations, it’s crucial to pause and reflect on the true meaning of this season: Jesus is the reason for the season. Christmas, at its core, is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the savior of humanity. His arrival brought hope, love, and salvation to a world in need. The nativity scene reminds us of the humble beginnings of the Messiah, born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. This simple yet profound event embodies the essence of the season – the gift of God’s love. In the midst of the shopping lists and party planning, let’s remember the spiritual significance of Christmas. It’s a time to cultivate kindness, compassion, and gratitude. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our own lives and how we can share the love and joy of Christ with others. Acts of kindness, charity, and spreading the message of hope exemplify the true spirit of Christmas. So, as we decorate our homes, bake cookies, and gather with loved ones, let’s not forget the reason for the season. Jesus’ birth serves as a reminder of the incredible gift of love and salvation bestowed upon us. Let’s celebrate with hearts full of gratitude and share the love that Jesus brought into the world with those around us. After all, the joy of Christmas lies in embracing the message that Jesus is the reason for the season.
Happy Good Friday 2020 April 11, 2020 bizadmin Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, and Black Friday. Members of many Christian denominations, including the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist, Oriental Orthodox, and Reformed traditions, observe Good Friday with fasting and church services. The date of Good Friday varies from one year to the next on both the Gregorian and Julian calendars. Eastern and Western Christianity disagree over the computation of the date of Easter and therefore of Good Friday. Good Friday is a widely instituted legal holiday around the world, including in most Western countries and 12 U.S. states. Some countries, such as Germany, have laws prohibiting certain acts, such as dancing and horse racing, that are seen as profaning the solemn nature of the day. [abc] According to the accounts in the Gospels, the royal soldiers, guided by Jesus’ disciple Judas Iscariot, arrested Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. Judas received money (30 pieces of silver) (Matthew 26:14–16) for betraying Jesus and told the guards that whomever he kisses is the one they are to arrest. Following his arrest, Jesus was taken to the house of Annas, the father-in-law of the high priest, Caiaphas. There he was interrogated with little result and sent bound to Caiaphas the high priest where the Sanhedrin had assembled (John 18:1–24). Personal Views It started with Maundy Thursday, followed by Good Friday and today is Holy Saturday. Tomorrow will be Easter Sunday, where for the first time, all Christians, if not most of them, will celebrate this beautiful day at home due to the lockdown of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic worldwide. It is postulated to be a year of recession, according to the Singapore Government. This will last for quite some time, maybe up to next year, and many companies are closing down due to no income and money to roll and to tide over during this challenging period. So, in the meantime, for most of us staying put in the comfort of our home, let’s keep occupied by reading, learning a new course, and stay sane and happy. Be Safe and Be Happy! [abc]
Merry Christmas 2018 December 1, 2018 bizadmin Today is the first month of Christmas. Have you done your shopping yet? Stay tuned for another Bible Giveaway! This time it is 30 Days to Understanding the Bible! There will be just one giveaway coming soon in January. I will post a blog about it and announce the winner soon from the comments. The last giveaway was a blast! Unfortunately, my apologies I could not give to all of you due to the limited copy of just one per comment for residents of the USA only. For this month, dad will undergo a heart bypass on 5th and admitted on 2nd in a semi-private hospital. We will stay in a nearby condo and visit him for 16 days, as it takes about 10 days to recover after the surgery without complications. Since dad is now 81 years old, he is considered high-risk. 75% will survive the heart bypass at this age where they will take a vein from his leg and replace his clogged arteries. Thank you for your prayers in advance. And Merry Christmas in 2018, the season’s greetings, the time of giving and receiving is here!

Merry Christmas 2017 December 11, 2017 bizadmin I would like to take this opportunity to wish my readers a very Merry Christmas! Now is the season of greetings and cheer. Many malls have put up decorative Christmas trees with tinsels, baubles, wrapped gifts and the Star of Bethlehem. I shall be going overseas for holidays from 14th onwards and back after Christmas or rather boxing day on the 26th of December. Boxing day is called as such and refers to opening of presents and wrapped gifts. In the meantime, there will be no updates during this period from 14th – 26th December 2017. Can you find me in the picture above? It is near my dwelling place at Times Square and on the left side is The Wave still under construction. This awesome mesmerising Christmas tree was set up near Penang Times Square and is one of the better decorated ones in Penang, besides Queensbay Mall where the magic of Christmas comes alive!
Happy New Year of the Rooster 2017 February 2, 2017 bizadmin It may be a little late, but better late than never. Hence I would like to wish you Happy Chinese New Year of the Fire Rooster 2017 which happened to fall on 28th and 29th January this year. I got Singapore dollars of $200 from a relative without even going there as mum request the ang pow for me. So this is extra RM 619.40 bonus for the month of January as part of my own earnings. To me something is better than nothing. So, mum kept her promise of asking for the red packet for spinsters like me. Even though I am in a relationship, I don’t intend to get married and enjoy the status quo with much travelling with my spouse and business partner. A real life event: a woman had to have both her legs amputated at the thighs after giving birth due to infection setting in, went into a coma for a long time and woke up to find that her husband had left her. She is now disabled but became an entreprenuer, working from her wheelchair in order to support herself. Some couples don’t understand the vow, “in good times and in bad times, we shall be together.” When something goes wrong like in this case, the housewife becomes permanently disabled, the hubby chickened out of the marriage and ran off.
Merry Christmas 2016! December 20, 2016 bizadmin It is now 5 days to Christmas and I am excited for this day as I have booked SuperStar Libra Cruise to high seas for 1 night, departing from Swettenhem Pier, Penang Port with my partner. It is extra costly compare to the usual price because of peak season together with the year end school holidays. I have attended a Quayside Condo buffet dinner recently and was satisfied of the event. Christmas is a time to reflect on the grace of God through Jesus Christ who redeemed mankind from sin and eternal damnation in hell. Jesus has reconciled man with God again and therefore all Children of God and Christians have a hope and place in heaven when they are called home to be with the Maker, God Himself.
Christmas Dinner at Matsuki December 27, 2015 bizadmin My second sister had done a review for The Star as a stringer at Matsuki along Cantonment Road and further up called Jalan Pemenang. Well, this Christmas, we had lunch there with their Christmas bento set for an affordable $35 and the bill came to about $271 for 7 persons with 10% discount for my sister. It was set in an old colonial single storey white bungalow with some parking spaces. The bento consists of mushrooms rolled with salmon and avocado, meat burger, chawan mushi, miso soup and some garnishings here and there with tea – hot or cold. On boxing day, my niece celebrated her wedding at Rasa Sayang Hotel with about 5 tables for the guests after the tea ceremony. It started with 4 seasons platter, followed by crab’s meat soup without the sharks’ fins to save the dwindling population of sharks, and other 8-course-meal with dessert at the end. The food was not too bad but CRC is still better and value for money.
