Going to Kuala Lumpur in a Short While

This morning, I shall be travelling to Kuala Lumpur by car. As it is part of my job scope and requirements, I am happy to travel with my colleague. I may have an enviable job to work in a home office, no doubt about it, while getting the chance to moonlight part time writing articles for Trip101, Eastasy and paid comments. I also do microjobs and paid surveys that are easy peasy. The more challenging work requires thinking and curating or researching the internet for important and correct information.

I also have had experience writing articles on gadgets and technology in the past. Well, all these experiences have honed my writing skills to a seamless structure and better vocabulary. I know people are trolling this blog for information and even my hosting provider is not absent! You may not comment but I know you are stalking it.

But I am happy blogging, as long as you don’t try to find illegitimate ways of charging me an arm and a leg with the knowledge that I may lead a comfortable lifestyle! I certainly hate dishonesty!

Ian Leaf Switzerland

Switzerland is a beautiful country. I remember visiting this amazing country 5 years ago in 2012. The snowcapped mountains in Mount Pilatus was awesone and breathtaking. We went up there via a cable car with a helicopter view of the Alps and pine trees right to the pit stop at the top where you can rest and relax for a drink or two and buy souvenirs home such as fridge magnets, my favourite. It is also one of the top ten richest country in the world by per capita GDP of USD 41,950.00 at number 9 position, according to Forbes report last year 2016.

My trip here was a memorable one and Switzerland was one of the 10 European countries covered during a group tour with my sisters. I have also written 10 articles on Switzerland and its culture, museums, etc for a hotel booking website. Each article is about at least 1,000 words to educate and are curated from the internet.

2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards

A world champion has been announced at the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards: AirAsia took the gold as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the 9th-year running! Air Asia’s head honcho, Tony Fernandez certainly looked elated in this picture while carrying a lady (probably a staff or his wife!) flanked by his several air stewardesses in their signature red uniforms.

Thank you for your continuous support as it is your loyalty that propelled AirAsia to the top, according to the email that I received.

As always, you can redeem the best AirAsia flight deals on the best travel dates with the AirAsia BIG Loyalty mobile app. Check out today for a rewarding flying experience.

Because of his business acumen, Tony turned an airline on the verge of bankruptcy to a prosperous low-cost airline that is emulated all over the world. The picture above reminds me of Virgin Airlines Boss, Sir Richard Branson scooping up an air stewardess and a photo of him carrying her was snapped for the press publicity.

Article Writer

I am also an article writer for 2 sites in Singapore that pays via my Paypal. The curated articles require lots of time with a minimum of 1,000 words plus free pictures from Instagram. Yesterday morning, took an Air Asia flight in KLIA2 to JB and went to 3 places before returning on the same day by Firefly to Subang Airport. I booked a Grab car and a driver was found rather quickly when I touched down. He was already waiting for us outside McDonald’s where I noticed a few police officers around in case the normal cab drivers want to bash up the Grab driver for taking a slice of the pie.

Now technology rules and without using smartphones to find customers on the go and get directions to their destinations, it would be getting more difficult for conventional taxi driver to find a living. Eventually their jobs will be replaced by Uber and Grab drivers who are very efficient and don’t charge too exorbitantly.

This morning, I receive a feeback from my editor requiring further editions to my article on Top 10 Best Places to Eat in Penang. It is a curated article, meaning research needs to be done online.

Also noticed that there are so many Mainland China labourers in JB taking flights home to KL while working in construction sites as they spoke extra loudly and were crude. China had already stopped capital outflow from its country and I don’t know how this will affect the development in southern Johor.

Stayed at Mid Valley Cititel Hotel

I just came back from KL 2 days ago and we stayed at Mid Valley Cititel Hotel for 1 night. We were on our way back to Penang when there was a call for an interview on Monday at the last minute. Hence, we had to stay back for a total of 4 days and 3 nights in KL. I also redeemed my Manis H&M voucher for $30 at 20% discount with a minimum spend of $150. After coming back in the evening, the following day, went to Alor Setar to meet up with someone which we may not accept due to the stringent rules of completion.

I also signed up for UOB credit card and got a sign up gift of Hello Kitty selfie stick, power bank, USB light, key ring and wire. The box of 5 pieces cost $70 online or rather $69 that I got for free just for signing up at Mid Valley. Always sign up with young people, they will give you the sign up gift; never with old people who might even keep the gifts for themselves and tell you there is no sign up gift! Utter balloney.

I am now in the midst of updating the work and profile and it requires some time to complete. My boss had gone out on site project and won’t be back until later. Also just received a parcel of Pastor Joseph Prince’ message CDs of 4 in a set that is long overdue by the postman.

Hope to Attend Star Fit for Life Tomorrow

I am in KL now and we managed to secure a project. After dinner at Da:men, my partner banked in a cheque and then we headed home to rest. For me, it is to update this blog. I hope to attend tomorrow’s event, Star Fit for Life of health and fitness, sports, leisure, beauty and wellness. Touted to be Malaysia’s biggest Health & Wellness Fair, it is sponsored by Star Media Group, Great Eastern, Nestle Omega 3, etc. It is held from 21 – 23 April 2017 (Friday – Sunday) from 10:00am to 8:00pm at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

There will be free gifts for first 1,000 visitors each day and tomorrow being the last day, I hope to get something too and not be too late for it. In the car enroute to KL, I managed to redeem Manis App for free voucher of RM 10 online for a Papadelivery cheesecake. You have to purchase the 1kg cheese cake online and enter the Manis code of CHEESECAKE10 that is available only in Klang area and we shall collect it ourselves from PapaDelivery.my around 5:00pm before they close at 6:00pm on Sundays.

There are 4 types of cheesecakes and I chose Oreo cheesecake, all priced at RM99 for 1 kg. With the voucher, you pay RM 89. It is not cheap but to justify the many snappings of receipts, this will make me satisfied and an incentive to keep snapping for more free vouchers such as this. It is my third redemption with the first being RM 20 bodyshop products purchased online using a code and the second one being a physical RM 10 MPH voucher that was posted to me.

I also borrowed some cash from my boss to pay for expenses incurred by credit card since my cash was put into Fixed Deposit. Next month May, he will deduct my income for the cash borrowed like he did for all his other workers who may need to borrow money now and then.

Start A Travel Blog That Will Pay For Your Travels and WordPress Plugins to Have

Travel the World

Now you can earn free travels by starting a travel blog through FlyMe360 at http://www.flyme360.com/start-a-travel-blog-make-money/ The details are in the link above where you can click to find out more on how to get started with step by step methods. It would be lovely if you are single and unattached, to travel the world and experience local cultures, food, buildings and the people.

There are a few travel bloggers who get their travels overseas all sponsored provided they blog about it and share their many travel photos. This takes lots of writing, photo taking, and much more work. As they say, travel while you are young and able; for when you are old and can no longer walk, you may be bedridden and no longer have the strength compared to your younger days.

On a side note, some WordPress Plugins that you need to have are listed below:

1) WordPress SEO by Yoast – This plugin is one of the best SEO (Search Engine Optimization) plugins available out there. It does this by adjusting permalinks, sitemaps, indexation, robots meta, rss, internal links, and more. In simple terms, this plugin will help your website to be found easier on the web, bringing in traffic and money!

2) Akismet – This will reduce the Spam comments in your blog.

3) W3 Total Cache – this plugin will help your website to load faster.

4) Conditional CAPTCHA for WordPress– Akismet is good at fighting spam comments and bots, but sometimes it will need help too. This plugin will produce captcha clues to help differentiate bots and humans.

5) WP touch – makes your blog more mobile friendly

6) Contact Form 7 – Allows you to install a simple contact form so people can email you through your site.

7) Digg Digg — Displays social media icons on a floating sidebar, making it easy for people to share your posts.

8) Zemanta – places related posts at the bottom of the current post being read.

With that being said, I will explore some of the above-mentioned plugins in my free time and select those that I find may be useful for this blog on business and the working life of the blogger. Being single has its benefits as you are not tied down to family commitments and have more freedom to do the things that you love.

Of course, I am also concerned about my old age and who will take care of me. But I shall leave that to God to find th right person to come along my life and take care of me in my twilight years or better still, golden years.
