Fix Your Eyes on Jesus January 17, 2022 bizadmin âFor we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.â 2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS Today Iâd like to share a powerful truth that will help you see how you can effectively drive fear out of your life and keep it out. It is a precious truth that will garrison your heart and mind from the enemyâs lies. Take time to worship the Lord, especially when it feels like the overwhelming odds are against you. Do what King Jehoshaphat did when his enemies joined forces and amassed a formidable army to destroy Israel. Jehoshaphat knew Israel had no chance of winning the battle in the natural. But he chose to do something you and I need to learn to do whenever our enemies besiege us. He cried out to the Lord, saying, âWe do not know what to do, but our eyes are on youâ (2 Chron. 20:12 NIV). Jehoshaphat then placed not commandos but worshipers at the head of his army, and this is what they sang: âGive thanks to the LORD, for his love endures foreverâ (2 Chron. 20:21 NIV). Instead of despairing because of their enemies, they chose to fix their eyes on the Lord, giving thanks to Him and singing of His love. This happened long before the cross of Jesus. How much more can you and I sing of His love, which never fails, which endures forever! And do you know what happened? The Lord defeated Israelâs enemies by turning them against each other, and Jehoshaphatâs troops did not even have to lift a finger to fight. Instead, when they came to the place that was supposed to be their battleground, their enemies were already dead, and all they ended up doing was collecting so much plunder that it took them three days to collect it all. In Jesusâ name, may this happen to you. When you are overwhelmed by challenges, and you donât know what to do or even how to feel, cry out to the Lord and tell Him, âLord, I donât know what to do, but my eyes are on You.â Thatâs the most potent posture you can take, with your eyes fixed not on your enemies but your Savior. As you focus on His love that endures forever, the Lord Himself will fight your battle for you (2 Chron. 20:15). May you be so conscious of His perfect love that every fear is driven from your life, and may you walk away so much stronger than before your enemies tried to come against you!
Be Led by the Holy Spirit December 27, 2021 bizadmin Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. Acts 16:6â7 BE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT The more areas of your life you involve the Lord in, the more you can experience His protection. You can even ask the Lord to guide you in something as seemingly natural as your travel itinerary. In fact, read the passage above. The apostle Paul allowed the Holy Spirit to lead them at every step. We see from those scriptures that closed doors are not necessarily negative and could be signs of Godâs protection over our lives. The challenge for some of us is that we are so adept at planning and scheduling our busy lives that we often donât make room for the Lord to intervene and guide us to be at the right place at the right time. Letâs not trust our intelligence and planning, but in His wisdom, leading, and counsel. There is a proverb that says, âA manâs heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his stepsâ (Prov. 16:9). Even as we plan, I pray that we will never forget to commit all our ways to the Lord and allow Him to direct our steps. Being led by the Spirit does not have to be something complicated. When you walk close to the Lord and have a close relationship with Him, He can guide you in supernaturally natural ways. Some years ago, a couple in our church were vacationing at a beach resort on Penang Island in Malaysia when the wife felt like eating something in another location on the mainland. Because of that âpromptingâ in her belly, they headed off earlier than originally planned. While they were loading their vehicle, a man kept hurrying them and asking them to move off as they were blocking the hotel driveway, and that had irritated them at that time. In any case, just fifteen minutes after they had crossed from the island to the mainland, they heard the news that an earthquake in the Indian Ocean had triggered a killer tsunami that crashed onto the beachfront they were at, killing more than fifty people. Had they left just a little later, they could have been among the casualties of the tragedy that day. Looking back, the couple believes that the man at the hotel might even have been an angel sent by the Lord to get them out of harmâs way quickly. I donât know about you, but I want the Lord to direct all my steps! Call upon Him today, and He will answer you.
Why a Revelation of Your Forgiveness Is So Important September 30, 2021 bizadmin I write to you, little children because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake. 1 John 2:12 WHY A REVELATION OF YOUR FORGIVENESS IS SO IMPORTANT People have asked me from time to time, “Pastor Prince, why is an understanding of the complete forgiveness of my sins so important for me to walk in God’s unmerited favor?” This is a good question. Let me share with you some of the implications involved. First, if you have no confidence that all your sins have been forgiven, then your eternal security and salvation will always hang in the balance. Second, if you think that your sins were not fully dealt with at the cross, then you can never have the confidence to enjoy the Lord’s presence because you can never be sure if He is on your side or if He is waiting to punish you for your failures. You will constantly feel unworthy because you assessed your conduct, and you can never really have the boldness to ask God for big things or believe that He will give you success in your life. Third, if you do not believe that Jesus has already forgiven all your sins, it means that when you fail, you will think that you are not “right” with God and that fellowship with Him has been cut off. And instead of depending on His unmerited favor to overcome your failure, you will feel that you need to confess your sin, be remorseful and make amends with God before you can restore fellowship with God and depend on Him again. It comes down to this: When you don’t have a clear sense of your complete forgiveness, you will constantly be on an emotional seesaw. Sometimes, you feel that things between you and God are all right, but you don’t think that it is so at other times. Sometimes, you feel confident that the Lord is with you to make you a success, but at other times, you feel like you blew it, and the Lord will not help you until you confess your sin and make amends. You will be in a constant cycle of feeling insecure, where you are always hopping in and out of God’s favor. All these feelings depend on how well you think you have performed and ignore the cross of Jesus altogether. My friend, God does not evaluate you based on your behavior. He sees only Jesus’ perfect work. But because you do not believe that Jesus has indeed forgiven you of all your sins, you end up feeling like a total and complete hypocrite and failure. I hope you are beginning to see that understanding the complete forgiveness of your sins is not just for theologians. Thinking that your sins are not entirely forgiven will fundamentally affect your relationship with Jesus. While He is all ready to bless you, give you a favor and make you a success, unbelief in His finished work robs you of the ability to receive His goodness, His blessings, His unmerited favor, and His success in your life. The cross of Jesus qualified you, but unbelief in the main clause of the new covenant disqualifies you. Meditate on what God says about your sins in the new covenant and free yourself to receive from Him today. The new covenant is based entirely on His unmerited favor. There is nothing for you to do, nothing for you to perform, nothing to accomplish. Your part in the new covenant is to have faith in Jesus and to believe that you are forgiven and free to enjoy the new covenant blessings through His finished work!
Faith Comes by Hearing July 23, 2021 bizadmin So faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 NASB FAITH COMES BY HEARING How does one change his mind from hiding from God to running to God? Well, todayâs scripture tells us that âfaith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.â In Matthew 8, the man with leprosy had enough faith to come out of his hiding place and head straight for Jesus to seek healing because of the gracious words he had heard while Jesus was preaching to the multitudes. If our Lord had preached a hellfire-and-brimstone message of condemnation, do you think the man would have dared to approach Him for healing? Of course not. He would have walked away fearful of punishment and feeling more condemned and hopeless than ever. But because he heard words of graceâhow God wanted to be a loving Father to him and provide for all his needsâfaith arose in his heart, giving him the confidence to approach the Lord Jesus for his miracle. My friend, what you hear about God is of utmost importance. It can mean the difference between receiving your miracle and remaining where you are in your lack of bondage. It can draw you close to God or drive you further away from Him. Faith comes by hearing, but fear also comes by hearing. If youâve been hearing about a God who is mostly angry and out to get you for your sins, how can you have faith to look to Him for help? If youâve been hearing that He gives people (even believers) sicknesses and punishes them with horrible accidents for their sins, how can you look to Him for healing? If youâve been hearing that He wants you and your family in poverty to keep you humble, how can you believe Him for financial breakthroughs or deliverance from mounting debts? How can you possibly trust God for anything good to happen to you if all youâve been hearing are sermons that make you feel more condemned and fearful of His judgment? Itâs sad, but the things Iâve just mentioned are the very things people hear about God. Just look at the movies made about God todayâGod is always portrayed as mean, judgmental, petulant, destructive, and even murderous! How theyâve perverted Who God really isââcompassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing loveâ (Ps. 103:8 NLT)! Please understand me. God does have anger, but the Bible never defines God as wrath; it defines God as love (1 John 4:8, 16). Did our Lord Jesus ever condemn the prostitutes and tax collectors, those despised and rejected by society? No, He was a friend of sinners! Did He ever take away from the poor or inflict the sick with more diseases? No, He fed a hungry multitude with twelve baskets full of leftovers and healed everyone who sought Him for healing wherever He went! The Bible tells us that Jesus âwent about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Himâ (Acts 10:38). What does that tell us? God wants to do good, not evil, to us! If this were not true, God would not have been with Jesus, backing Him up. Jesus said, âHe who has seen Me has seen the Father Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority, but the Father who dwells in Me does the worksâ (John 14:9â10). If you want to know what God is really like (and not what man portrays Him to be), look at Jesus in the Gospels. He is Godâs will in action, and He went about doing goodâsaving, delivering, healing, restoring, providing, guiding, and loving the unlovable. Thatâs our God!
Be Forgiveness-Conscious June 15, 2021 bizadmin Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. Psalm 103:2â4 BE FORGIVENESS-CONSCIOUS Not too long ago, I was driving out for lunch with my wife, Wendy, and for some reason, every time she made a passing comment, I found myself snapping irritably at her or making an unnecessarily provocative remark. Have you had one of those days? When I reflected on why I was so irritable, I realized it was because I was actually feeling guilty about a couple of matters from earlier in the day. I hadnât necessarily done anything wrong, but Iâd just allowed a little bit of guilt to creep into my heart and unconsciously allowed condemnation to come in. My friend, when you are walking under a cloud of judgment, you can become a really unpleasant person to be around. Trust me, I know what I am talking about. Even if you are an author of books about Godâs grace and forgiveness, there can be moments where condemnation creeps into your heart and you are completely oblivious to it. I thank God that when Wendy asked me if there was a reason for my irritability, He gave me that moment of clarity where I could see the condition of my heart. And praise Jesus for a discerning and perceptive wife who didnât take my remarks personally and knew something was not right with me. I remember telling her to let me know the next time she noticed such behavior from me, because itâs so easy to slip into condemnation and guilt. When youâre under guilt and condemnation, all day long you can feel lousy, and all your answers have a sting in them. Thatâs not the abundant life, and you know what it all comes back to? It comes back to having a constant sense of Godâs forgiveness over your life. Instead of taking in and harboring all the guilt, condemnation, and judgment, we need to stand secure in our perfect forgiveness in Jesus. There is a redeeming quality to being forgiveness-conscious, as opposed to being conscious of your failings, sins, and mistakes. When you are forgiveness-conscious and see your failings on the cross of Jesus, you receive power to break out of your irritability, impatience, and short-temperedness with others. You receive power to break out of your eating disorders, addictions, and anxieties! When you realize that we donât deserve Godâs forgiveness and grace yet He gives it to us anyway, this revelation of His unmerited favor changes us from within. It dissolves the knots of anger and impatience in us that have built up over the years and frees us to enjoy Godâs love and to show it to others!
Blessed to be a Blessing May 16, 2021 bizadmin I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. Genesis 12:2 BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING What does it mean to be an heir of the world? Letâs take a look at Abrahamâs life to see what the Lord did for him. Godâs Word tells us that Abraham did not just become rich. He became very rich. âWell, Pastor Prince, being an heir of the world refers to spiritual riches.â Hang on, that is not what my Bible says. According to Genesis 13:2, Abraham was âvery rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.â Now, if financial blessings are not part of the blessings of the Lord, then are you telling me that the Lord cursed Abraham with wealth? I am so glad that God defined Abraham’s riches very specifically. God must have foreseen a generation of people who would argue that He is against His people experiencing financial success, so He said clearly in His Word that Abraham was very rich in livestock, silver, and gold. Abraham wasnât just rich spiritually. Beloved, God is not against you having wealth, but He is definitely against wealth having you. The Lord blessed Abraham so that he could be a blessing to others. He told Abraham, âI will bless you . . . and you shall be a blessing.â Similarly, He will bless you financially, so that you can be a blessing to others. You cannot be a blessing to those around youâyour loved ones, local church, community, and the poorâif you are not blessed by the Lord first. Now, you already know that finances alone don’t make you a success. There are a lot of âpoorâ people in the world today who have a lot of money. They can have fat bank accounts, but their hearts are empty without the revelation of Jesusâ love for them. You and I have something from Jesus that is far more superior. The success that we, as new covenant believers, can believe God for is good, the holistic success that permeates every aspect of our lives! What keeps you safe for financial success is when you know that your blessings come from Jesusâ unmerited favor. When you have that revelation, you will no longer be preoccupied with having money because you will be preoccupied with the Lord. Amazingly, you will realize that the more occupied you are with Jesus, the more money follows after you! Now, why is that? It is simply because when you seek first the kingdom of God and put Jesus, His righteousness (not your own righteousness), His joy, and His peace as your first priority, God’s Word promise you that ALL the material things that you need will be added to you (Matt. 6:33). The Lord always gives you money with a mission and prosperity with a purpose. He blesses you and when you are blessed, you can be a vessel to bless others. The gospel of grace can be preached, churches can be built, precious lives can be touched, sinners can be born again, marriages can be restored, and physical bodies can be healed when you send out the Word of Jesus with your financial support. Donât love money and use people. Use the money to love people. May it be settled in your heart once and for all that it is Godâs desire for you to be a financial success and to have more than enough to bless others! This devotional is taken from the book 100 Days of FavorâDaily Readings from Unmerited Favor.
The Head And Not The Tail June 8, 2020 bizadmin And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath⌠Deuteronomy 28:13 THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL One of our church members saw his sales performance hit rock bottom by the middle of the year. As a result, he was ranked 320 out of the 420 financial advisers in his company. Devastated and on the verge of giving up, he started listening to my messages and claiming Godâs promises such as âthe Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneathâ and âmany who are first will be last, and the last firstâ (Matthew 19:30). He committed everything to God because he believed that only God could turn things around for him. And God did just that. By the end of that year, he was ranked second in his branch and 10th in the whole company! He qualified for a trip for two to Barcelona, Spain, worth about S$20,000. That was not all. For the first time in his 12 years as a financial adviser, he qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table Award. Only the top six percent of advisers in the entire industry qualify for this international award. Beloved, when God makes you the head, you will end up on top of your circumstances. Consider the story of Joseph (see Genesis 39). Even when he was a slave, he was the head and not the tail because God prospered everything that he did. âBut Pastor Prince, when I look at my life, there are times when I am up and there are times when I am down. Yet, the Bible says that I will be above only. I donât understand this.â What you are going through is only temporal. Keep believing that you are above only and not beneath, even when you have hit rock bottom. It is God who always causes you to triumph in Christ (see 2 Corinthians 2:14). You cannot cause yourself to triumph. Only God can and He has promised in His Word that you will be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. So believe His Word in spite of your circumstances and expect to see victory!
