Background / Characters

• Angel Gabe is sent to intercede on Janie’s behalf to help her transition from businesswoman to mom.
• Janie Caswell, a businesswoman, is pregnant and finds out she’s having a girl and has a panic attack on the day of a big presentation at work. She is married to David and unsure if she can parent a daughter because she doesn’t relate to girls.
• Janie’s competition at work pitches a line of dolls intended to help girls through issues of childhood. Janie counters with a line of interactive computer games intended to empower girls.
• After having Samantha, Janie leaves the hospital to immediately go to work and Gabe is her cab driver. He tries to tell her the truth but she doesn’t believe it.
• Janie gets into a car accident and wakes up six years later and has no memory of the accident.
• David moved to Southport to be with Janie’s dad, Buck, after the accident. Her daughter runs away when Janie first wakes up. Janie doubts herself and her ability to be there for her daughter.
