Managed to Figure Out Powerpoint September 16, 2015 bizadmin It was my first time creating a powerpoint slides show in Office 2007 and after figuring out a few stuffs, I managed to create a powerpoint slide show presentation with male and female voice narration added plus animations to the text and pictures. This is for a company presentation during the interview. If I were to get outside help, it would cost in the region of more than ten thousand for a full powerpoint presentation to make an impact. Being a do-it yourself gal, and with my IT background, I prefer to experiment around using the various features and learning how to do it myself. This is much simpler than, say writing or coding a program or system. As an end user, I have no complains other than being pleased with my progress and efforts.
Stayed at Maritime Waterfront Hotel September 2, 2015 bizadmin On 30th August, a Sunday, we stayed at Maritime Waterfront Hotel, choosing the Executive Suite for $448 per night plus another $3 for the Penang government. It was to celebrate our 12th Anniversary together and it seems to be a long time with its many challenges of working together and sharing a life as soul mates with its ups and downs. Above is a picture of 2 swans pecking together made from white towels. Rose petals were scattered on the side table with 2 red hearts cut out from paper. Here is a view from the Sky Garden of Maritime Waterfront Hotel, possible a 4-star hotel with a swimming pool and gym. For $448, buffet breakfast is included for 2. It includes nasi lemak, fried noodles, various cereals, veggies, milk, juices and muffins. For dinner, we drove to the nearby hawker centre in Sungai Pinang which is just 3 minutes away. My spouse ordered several dishes, amongst them crab claws as shown above for $12 a plate of 3 pieces. It has chopped vegetables mixed with crab meat, patted into a dough on crab claw and deep fried for a sumptuous meal. We also ordered scallops, garnished with stir-fried garlic for $12 a plate as well for 2 pieces. It was finished in one mouthful which was yummy. This particular hawker centre has 42 different stalls and many varieties of affordable food to choose from. For my main meal, I had sliced grouper in soup with thin noodles, mixed with sliced ginger for an ‘oopmh’ taste that lingers on the taste buds. Hope you like the pictures taken in my iPhone 6 and emailed over without using any Photoshop to resize or edit the pictures.
Planning to go to Penang, Phuket, Krabi Cruise June 26, 2015 bizadmin I am currently planning to go to Penang, Phuket, Krabi Cruise for 4 days 3 nights via Libya Star Cruises by Genting. For 3 persons in July, the cost will be $4,016 including port taxes and GST. But my dad may not go this time leaving just me and mum. We may go later, but for the moment, the date of departure is not ready yet in the system for online booking. There will be cabaret show on the cruise and a small circular swimming pool. I have never taken Star Cruises and this will be the first time for this experience. With my partner, I have taken a simple cruise to nowhere for 1 night stay only plus gambling on board the ship. We were woken up at midnight to gamble and I won $5 on my first try before retiring to bed as it was the policy to gamble the whole night through for this particular cruise to nowhere.
Working at Home has its Benefits June 6, 2015 bizadmin I love to work at home with benefits such as EPF and SOCSO. There is also paid medical leave and holidays within Malaysia. It is good to have sufficient knowledge to work effectively in a home office, creating and maintaining the company website that pulls in most of the clients and business. But it requires lots of hard work and determination to maintain the website with more than 600 pages now. I know Photoshop and HTML. With sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, I am able to leverage on the features to effectively and productively work at home. I can create Powerpoint Slides, brochures of products, etc. Photoshop is a powerful editing tool if you know how to use its many functions.
Working in a Home Office June 2, 2015 bizadmin It is good working in a home office since February of 2004. The remuneration is not bad at all and around the pay of a junior manager in a factory in Bayan Lepas, Penang – the silicon valley of Malaysia. I get to watch Astro – just for laughs by a Canadian production every Mondays and Tuesdays and read newspapers in between work. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is on the company and the benefits are good too, including SOCSO and EPF. I could not have asked for more and I thank God each day for this dream job to work in a home office, thus saving me time from commuting to office, getting stuck in snarling traffic jams and dressing up for work.
Sold All My Stamps May 22, 2015 bizadmin Just last week, I sold all my stamps for $50 for over 400 pieces, still stuck to envelopes. As I don’t have time to separate them from the paper and arrange in an album, I decided to sell them in one shot without all the unnecessary hassle. I also have a standing order for postal stamps that as soon as they are out, I will be couriered by Pos Laju the new denominations in a complete set. Every month I have to top up about $102.50 to the postal order for this plan. I am still collecting stamps that arrive every week from the various suppliers for my boss’ business. They include tax invoices, bank statements, etc. Selling stamps online is easy peasy and I was also introduced to the Carousel app that can be installed on iPhones or other gadgets like Samsung, HTC, etc.
Sold a Book May 12, 2015 bizadmin I sold a book ’72 Amazing Ways to Internet Profits’ for a mere $8 after paying a whopping $56 for it! Well, there is too much hype and Patric certainly knows the psychology of selling, being a greeting card seller himself before his phenomenal rise to wealth via the internet. I read it only once but the title of the book certainly attracts much interests, despite the boring contents. There is nothing new to be learnt and that is why the big boys keep making crazy amount of money every day while the normal people like us struggle to put food on the table for our families. To some people, making tonnes of money seems to be the norm each day and they are jet setting to exotic destinations, taking up the entire bungalows for their families with swimming pool included and the best scenery of the beach, white powdery sand and the azure blue seas crashing onto the shores, giving out lots of negative ions in the process.
Long Stretch of Holidays May 2, 2015 bizadmin Yesterday was Labour Day on May 1 which is a public holiday that is celebrated worldwide and it continues with the weekend right up to Monday, since Sunday is Wesak Day for the Buddhists. I just came back from a one night stay at Equatorial Hotel, Penang and enjoyed the buffet breakfast with a wide repertoire of selections to choose from. I think I might just skip dinner or have a very light dinner since I am still full now, with time approaching for dinner in just a few minutes. The stay at the hotel including breakfast for two set us back by a whopping $400 plus, almost $500 with 10% service charge and 6% GST included. But the view of Penang Golf Course, formerly known as Bukit Jambul Golf Course was serene, dotted by lakes with water fountain right smack in the middle. The lawn is well tended and some golfers could be seen putting away with their caddy and buggy to move from one fairway to the other. However, there was a long queue to check into the hotel yesterday and the service was rather slow, as observed. Apparently there was a new staff who knows next to nothing manning one queue and she had to ask for directions on the booking system. Otherwise, my short holiday was almost immaculate and enjoyable.
