So Busy Hustling

I flew back by Firefly yesterday afternoon having gone to KL early in the morning and waking up at 5:00am to catch the 6:50am flight with boarding time at 6:20am. When we came back, went to collect company’s t-shirts that are ready for payment to pass over 10 pieces to our workers in KL. Since they work in a factory, they have to wear uniforms to work and get permission to enter the premise to work. I also have to revise some of Trip101 articles which are thankfully, not many for this month.

Later tonight, have to print out old quotations for amendments to existing client and then revised the BQ for submission of tender by 12:00noon on Monday. On Tuesday, it was scheduled to settle the GST payment for the months of July to September. This morning, also went for physiotherapy for about 1 hours on my right arm, costing me $75.

Later on after dinner, have to buy a set of ink cartridges and paper that is running out, due to daily printing of enquiries, quotations, etc. Hence, this blog was unattended for the past few days due to work commitment. I also have dozens of trip101 articles to write and complete.

31 Days of Productivity

31 Days of Productivity

The above infographic showcases 31 days of productivity. Here are some of them that I shall pick up at random. Drink water as soon as you wake up. It is recommended to drink 2 glasses each morning before breakfast due to the 8 hours of fast or sleep. Organise your workspace and declutter unnecessary stuffs. Meditate for 10 minutes to recharge your inner being and rejuvenate your soul from the hustle and bustle of working life. Choose one task and automate it or delegate it. Let someone better do the troubleshooting if that is your weakness and spend productive time doing something else that you are good at and earns you more money.

Don’t spend too much time doing mundane things that appear to be your weakness and instead, concentrate on doing something which is your strong point. Eat a healthy meal such as fruits and vegetables, minus the carbohydrates if possible. And don’t forget to hug someone who loves you; could be your pet! 🙂

Reward yourself for your biggest accomplishment of the month. And whatever money you made, try to spend less than you earn for a golden retirement in years to come. Hopefully it is not woeful one like a real case in point: an accountant was afflicted with diabetes and could no longer work; finally without constant income, he had to sell off his house and live in the streets, becoming homeless with no family or friends to visit him. Such is a destitute case despite being a professional in his younger years! This is one extreme case, but we always hope and pray for the best and be generous to others so that wealth will come to you. What you fear in your heart may become a reality. So always focus on positive thoughts despite all the negative news and events happening worldwide.

Dinner at New Dragon Gate Seafood Restaurant

new dragon gate restaurant

I just had dinner at New Dragon Gate Seafood Restaurant with my business partner and spouse, inside Red Rock Hotel, formerly known as Mandarin Hotel along Macalister Road. It is located conveniently near our condo and we were out for dinner at around 9:00pm where most of the eateries are closing.

lights of fortune

This lights of fortune with crystal ball on top caught my attention and I took the opportunity to snap it for posterity. It has the shape of Chinese money of gold nugget.

That’s me seated on a carved wooden chair at the lobby of Red Rock Hotel just before dinner on the first floor.

This is the ambience with lilac coloured covered chairs with white ribbons and red lanterns suspended on the ceiling.

This is the printout or design of the restaurant serviette with address, logo, etc.

tofu

This was the first dish of black and yellow Japanese tofu, topped with fried mushrooms, spring onions and red chilies. It was quite delicious, with soft texture that is ubiquitous of tofu.

This was the third and final serving of 2 piecces of cod fish with black Japanese sauce, garnished with honeydew melon scoops, radish flower and green salad on the side.

These are some of the appetisers like peanuts while waiting for the main dish to arrive which was tofu with chilies, pu-er tea, on an embroidered table cloth.

fruits

Here are free fruits on the house consisting of cut watermelon, honeydew and papaya.

This green leaflet put on the table for the taking show the various set meal combinations with respective prices. Overall, the food was good with plenty of privacy – just the 2 of us were dining in an entire empty restaurant that can cater to a wedding banquet. I shall be going down south tomorrow morning to Kuala Lumpur and by Friday, will be down south further and come back to KL to attend the Mooncake Festival sponsorship dinner table of 10 that was paid for by our company in a hotel.

Hence, this blog may or may not be updated for another week as I shall be on the go all the time traveling for work.

The above infographic is long, well developed and took much time preparing. It is self-explantory and this gives me some tips as well on how to stay productive even when I am tired.

1) Do the most important task first;
2) Take a 5-minute break every one hour;
3) Deactivate emails and phone notifications; (This is a no go for me as they have to be on while I am working)
4) Stretch your legs regularly;
5) Drink a cuppa of coffee;
6) Work from a coffee shop for 1 hour; (Well, I work from home)
7) Drink water from a bottle with hydration tracker;
8) Work while standing up; (I will walk around and read newspapers)
9) Listen to soothing music; (by this I only listen to sentimentals)
10) Work by a Window to get fresh air;

16 Simple Motivation Tips to Get More Done

16 Simple Motivation Tips to Get More Done

The above is a detailed and long infographic specially designed to show case the 16 Simple Motivation Tips to Get More Done. As it is self-explanatory, I shall not go into detail other than the summary. It is pertinent to me too and teaches one not to be a perfectionist but to be excellent in whatever endeavour your pursue. Also plan for tomorrow by tonight or jot down roughly what you want to do and spend the time productively; you can also plan it in your head, instead of jotting down if you can remember.

As for me, I am too lazy to jot down, so I always plan ahead and try to maximise the time that I have NOW. It is also good to give back to society to invest in life after death. Do some charitable work or pray and spend some quiet time alone with God to recharge and let the Holy Spirit be your beacon of light to guide you through this treacherous path called ‘life’

Get the right tools and use technology to help you out. The internet is your world of oyster where all informationn can be found. Just know how to separate the wheat from the chaff. Also, enjoy the moment and don’t sleep too much; otherwise you will come to poverty. Anyone who loves to eat, enjoy life and sleep without working or lifting a finger will surely come to poverty and become hungry.

While working, enjoy your life and sometimes pamper yourself now and then like eating delicacies or going for spas and massages to help rejuvenate and destress to chase the blues away. Live life to the fullest and work hard and smart. Whether you are in business or working for others as an employee, remember to save more than you spend to save up for your retirement so that it is golden and not woeful.

50 Productivity Tips

50 Productivity Tips

The inforgraphic above shows 50 Productivity Tips for your perusal. Take you time to digest them and apply in your life. Then your boss will notice that whatever you do prospers and bring in great results. You will be favoured over other colleagues. With God’s help, you should be able to be productive and be excellent at whatever endeavour you pursue. Here, I shall not summarise whatever what written in the infographic, but give my point of view.

Read up productivity books and finance books to get the seed ideas which become habits and then actions which produces great results. The news is bombarded with too many negative news which happen to sell; hence we need to feed our minds with positive news and counter the negative ones. Even poisonous people that come into our lives, we need to avoid them like the plaque and enjoy our own solitude to create business ideas and take massive action. We need to have quiet time with God also and with ourselves to ponder and reflect daily on rejuvenate and charge up our ‘batteries’.

With all the above said, good luck to your work, business venture, frienships, family relationships, etc.

Searching for That JOB

After graduating in 1994, I remember looking fervently for a job and I applied to dozens of companies, where a few called me up for an interview, before finally landing myself a job in a computer school. I became an IT trainer, teaching Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access. I also taught BASIC programming at a junior level. I recalled working 9 hours in a row, with each lesson lasting 3 hours. If we have 3 lessons in a day, we called it ‘caterpillar’ and if there is a break of 3 hours in between, we called it ‘butterfly’. I don’t know why it was named as such, but those where the days we colleagues destress by cracking jokes, usually related to the private parts. 🙂 And we laughed over it during recess time.

I have had my share of filling up to 4 -6 forms of details on the spot and wait for the interview afterwards. In Singapore, there will always be x-rays done and medical checkups before you are cleared for employment. I recalled going for at least 5 x-rays for every new job that intended to hire me. Some lasted long while others were short stints. After 12 long years of ‘hardship’ of studying and working, I finally called it quits and returned to Penang, Malaysia for a slower pace of life.

For most people a JOB is ‘Just Over Broke’, which I fully agree. You are paid just enough so that you won’t leave and Not more! I was living from paycheque to paycheque and was always broke at the end of the month, leaving my bank account to 2 digits and even 1 digit one time! There was no savings in any form and it was all into expenditure to pay for bills, shopping, etc.

Well, now I am happy to say, I landed myself a Dream job to work in a home office doing administrative work and also maintaing the company website that I designed. By God’s grace and some luck, I got myself a moderately understanding boss who was initially my website client and now we work together on many projects. He helms the company while I do all the computer work or any work related to computers. And the workstation is just a walk to the next room, working in my pajamas.
