Stayed at Maritime Waterfront Hotel September 2, 2015 bizadmin On 30th August, a Sunday, we stayed at Maritime Waterfront Hotel, choosing the Executive Suite for $448 per night plus another $3 for the Penang government. It was to celebrate our 12th Anniversary together and it seems to be a long time with its many challenges of working together and sharing a life as soul mates with its ups and downs. Above is a picture of 2 swans pecking together made from white towels. Rose petals were scattered on the side table with 2 red hearts cut out from paper. Here is a view from the Sky Garden of Maritime Waterfront Hotel, possible a 4-star hotel with a swimming pool and gym. For $448, buffet breakfast is included for 2. It includes nasi lemak, fried noodles, various cereals, veggies, milk, juices and muffins. For dinner, we drove to the nearby hawker centre in Sungai Pinang which is just 3 minutes away. My spouse ordered several dishes, amongst them crab claws as shown above for $12 a plate of 3 pieces. It has chopped vegetables mixed with crab meat, patted into a dough on crab claw and deep fried for a sumptuous meal. We also ordered scallops, garnished with stir-fried garlic for $12 a plate as well for 2 pieces. It was finished in one mouthful which was yummy. This particular hawker centre has 42 different stalls and many varieties of affordable food to choose from. For my main meal, I had sliced grouper in soup with thin noodles, mixed with sliced ginger for an ‘oopmh’ taste that lingers on the taste buds. Hope you like the pictures taken in my iPhone 6 and emailed over without using any Photoshop to resize or edit the pictures.
Dinner at MorganFields January 21, 2015 bizadmin My youngest sister is waiting to sign her employment letter from HR department to join her new USA company in Penang. She brought me to have my hair rebonded yesterday and collected my medication. Tonight, she will treat the family to Morganfield Restaurant in Gurney Paragon which specialises in steak. I am not a red meat person, hence, I always go for fish or chicken. Had my debit card replaced at a cost of $18 from Hong Leong Bank. It is a pity the one with Hello Kitty design had been blocked since it could not recognise my PIN number anymore. Probably due to the fact that I hardly ever use this debit card that also acts as ATM card to take out money.
Ate at Toh Soon Cafe December 19, 2014 bizadmin My youngest sister took my second sister, her boyfriend and dad to Toh Soon Cafe in 184 Campbell Steet for breakfast recently and we decided to try it for ourselves since there is so much ravings about it. YB Lim Guan Eng had also dined there before in this shack of a cafe that is always full of patrons queuing up for a seat the moment people get up from their stools. The bread is charcoal roasted and spread with ‘kaya’ and butter for a crunchy texture and taste. It was an experience for me and my partner and we had to wait well over 10 minutes for a table to be vacated. The price is reasonable but I don’t think I shall be returning here for a second visit.
Using Meal Vouchers October 9, 2014 bizadmin I have 3 meal vouchers for every month of the year for 4 different restaurants – namely, Kim Gary, Xuan Xin Chinese Restaurant, Sakae Sushi and Max Gourmet. The meal vouchers are actually free meals offered on each month with different varieties. As such, I am a member for each of these restaurants and paid to become a member since I am a regular patron. By using meal vouchers, it keeps me going back for trying out new free dishes on the menu. And it is only at the upmarket lifestyle mall at Gurney Plaza in Penang. No other place have such vouchers to pull in the crowd as these restaurants are in close proximity to each other under one roof and are competing for diners.

Cheese Baked Fish at The Ship July 20, 2014 bizadmin Above is cheese baked fish in a scallop shell at The Ship along Jalan Sri Bahari in Penang. The cheese was simply ambroisia and infused with the fish for a sumptuous meal. This is cheese baked spaghetti with chicken strips, tomato slices, julienne onions, lots of cheese and of course not forgetting spaghetti. This meal can be ordered from Max Gourmet Restaurant at the seventh level of Gurney Plaza besides Golden Screen Cinemas. This was ordered from James Foo Western Food at Penang Times Square ground floor. The chicken chop was drizzled with lots of delicious gravy with cubes of carrots and onions. The food is reasonably priced and not too expensive. The dish above was ordered at Uncle Albert’s Restaurant at Straits Quay in Tanjung Tokong. The is a generous portion of potatoes and green beans. The meal above was during lunch time at Uncle Albert’s. The fish fillet was big with generous portion of fries. The flowers on display during the opening day at James Foo Western Restaurant in Penang Times Square. A website like sweety.pet will provide you with the highest quality in the industry.
My Birthday Yesterday at Foong Wei Heong Restaurant July 7, 2014 bizadmin I celebrated my birthday yesterday at Foong Wei Heong Chinese Restaurant at Sri Bahari Road in Penang. My parents, youngest sister and best friend came along. The dish above is four seasons consisting of stir fried scallops garnished with vegetables, honey coated fried chicken, spring roll and mayonnaise prawns. This dish cost $60 and enough to serve 5 of us. Gold Choice Gourmet Coffee was open last month in Penang Times Square and they offer barrista classes on how to serve gourmet coffee. They are a franchise business with several machines for coffee making costing in the range of thousands and easily 4 thousand upwards. I guess the boss must be quite wealthy, because they close rather early compared to the surrounding places and by 9:00pm, it is already closed. The above was ordered at Chinese Recreation Club where my friend is a lifetime member with no monthly charges. It is called green dragon vegetables stir-fried with garlic and garnished with stripes of red chilly. It tasted rather crunchy and soothe the palate. This is one of my favourite dish – stir-fried egg with chunks of crab meat, dried scallops and water chessnut, garnished with julienned lettuce. Depending on who takes the order, the dish can taste as ordinary as fried egg or a gourmet dish with lots of crab meat chunks. This is the first time I ordered and tried the Indian curry prawns with fried bun that was crusted on the outside. The bun was superb when dipped in the curry and the flavour melts in your mouth. The prawns were large and I think could be Tiger Prawns. The food taken all together where we had our dinner at Chinese Recreation Club recently.
