Flying Down South March 17, 2016 bizadmin Tomorrow, my colleague and myself will be flying down via Firefly to KL, departing at 9:30am and arriving Subang Terminal Airport an hour later. There after, we shall rent Hertz which had been booked already to visit a potential client and then have lunch before going for a second interview at 4:30pm. Thereafter, we will have dinner and return the rented car and wait at Subang Airport for our flight home, departing at 8pm should there be no further delay. The return air flights from Penang to KL cost us $1,055 while the Hertz car rental was $288 for an auto proton saga. Last week, we also flew down just for a day for the first interview with the same company. Hope we get the project if it is God’s will.
Booked Disney on Ice next week at SPICE Penang March 12, 2016 bizadmin I just booked Disney on Ice 2016 in SPICE Arena, Penang on a Sunday, 27th March which is just next week. There are 3 shows per day. The 2 tickets with GST cost me RM 296.36 which is quite near to the front view and the third most expensive ones. Did not intend to pay too much for direct front view and prefer to watch from the top of the spectators’ seats for a top view. This is not the first time we are watching an ice skating performance. We have watched previous ones like Beauty and the Beast and now the theme is mostly on Frozen. Tomorrow is my youngest sis’s birthday and we will celebrate in Fong Wei restaurant. Thereafter, there is a talk on M-Points at Penang Times Square for its members and those who are interested at 7pm. I joined as a member, having paid RM 4,500 or equivalent to USD 1k in this money game which is a bit like shares which can split its points, redeem for gifts at M Mall in Penang Times Square, and also go for overseas tours plus other features.
Came Back to Penang March 5, 2016 bizadmin I was in KL recently, having visited the Perfect International Ping Pong Championships near Acappella Hotel where we get to enter for free as guests. Our supplier from China installed the flooring for this match as we have bought materials in the past from them. My colleague was given a shaver while mine was a 100% blue silk shawl with nice flowery designs. We are treated lunch also at a KL club in a Chinese Restaurant. We visited 6-7 places including paying workers, collecting cheques, delivering materials, attending meetings, etc. This coming Sunday, we might just go to Kedah to meet up with a potential client and hopefully can confirm the project. Next week, on Wednesday, we might book Firefly tickets to fly down to KL to attend a meeting and return the same day. We also have to rent a car for the trip down to KL
Happy Belated Valentine’s Day February 15, 2016 bizadmin We celebrated Valentine’s day at Winter Warmers Restaurant in Times Square last night, costing $149.90 per couple. My partner ordered lamb shank while I had seabass with lemon capers as the mains. Our appetizer was scallops and mushroom soup. I had rose tea while he had rose capuccino topped with cream. For dessert, we had strawberry ice-cream and chocolate brownie. Upon payment of the dinner, I was given a nice cute teddy bear in red skirt which look like a rose. Earlier in the morning, my partner bought me a stalk of rose for $12. Thereafter, we walked around M Mall and phase 1 of Times Square which is slated to be refurbished at an astonishing $10 million face lift for the empty shop lots. Crazy Cowboy has good business every night since its inception with cowboy songs and life band at its premise.
Working from Home January 5, 2016 bizadmin I have been working from home since early 2004 till today. My spouse does most of the main work, drafting quotations, internet bank in salaries for our foreign workers as well as local Chinese workers, checking stock in the store room and driving around to attend interviews, etc. My job is to deal with the computer; any work and gst input into the computer using an online software with payments every 3 months to customs. I save lots of cash on traveling, gasoline, make-up, office clothes, etc. We have been blessed year after year with constant projects to feed our families and pay for the workers. I also get EPF, SOCSO and medical benefits. Well, I just hope that this year 2016 will bring in more blessings with protection along the roads when we drive around KL and North-South Highway. It is beyond my wildest dreams to be able to work from home and earn like an executive in a factory.
Happy New Year! January 1, 2016 bizadmin Here is to wish you, my dear readers, a Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2016! Well, as I have said, I have not set any resolutions for myself but just keep on going, doing the things that I love and continue to work from a home office. As long as God blesses me with good health for me and my colleagues and boss, we are able to overcome the odds and deliver work to our clients around Malaysia. 2015 had been a good year for me and I wish likewise for this year 2016. Without any children in the picture, we are able to travel anytime, plan for local holidays in any hotels and drive long distances to commute between Penang and Kuala Lumpur for business and work.
My Soul Mate is Funny October 17, 2015 bizadmin I stay with my soul mate in a small condo that we both shared in the finances. He does a lot of things for me; for instance, hoovering the floor, boiling water, making tea, hanging my clothes from the washing machine and keeping them and throws out the rubbish besides cleaning his toilet bowl in the living room and I clean my toilet bowl in the master bedroom. He is also funny and entertaining. We hug often and I love the natural fragrance of his hair after a shower. He is a handy man at best and a clown at funny times. He’s also my boss and driver. Now he is back from his walking exercise and off I go. Ta!
Going Down South Next Week September 25, 2015 bizadmin I shall be going to KL next week, either on a Monday or Tuesday morning for the 3pm interview at a potential client’s place. If we head down on Monday, then we would have to stay overnight at my apartment and it will not be so rushed during the journey. There could be unforeseen circumstances like car breaking down which had happened in the past and we had to cancel the important interview with more than 8 persons waiting for our presence. Anyway, we got another car, bigger and more robust this time despite being second hand Mercedes which has very low mileage. It is actually an S280 but the previous owner, Datuk Ali, changed it to S500. That’s the typical case of creating an impression on the roads. LOL! We were stopped by police on bikes once for suspicion of being potential drug peddlars, but all they found in our car boot were synthetic turf samples and lots of them in boxes. Hence, we were let off. Another time, we were fined just because the car number plate was not the conventional type and it was customised to look better and sleekier.
